“Cheryl has a painter’s eye for color using her camera to pull beautiful palettes from nature. Her eye catches the odd leaf in a stream turning the incidental into a stunning photograph.” A. Kremers
Photography
Photography has been a central source of joy in my life for over 4 decades. When I began showing and selling my work, it soon eclipsed my computer career. I would sneak out during lunch breaks to capture the beauty of rainy, misty spring days, which offered saturated colors, even light and moody landscapes. Immersing myself in nature during these moments was an irresistible joy.
Initially, most of my photographs were taken with slide film. However, I am increasingly working with digital images, due to physical limitations that make carrying a film camera, multiple lenses and a tripod challenging. Although I used to pride myself on an “all-natural” with no digital manipulation, I am now open to experimenting with creating new images derived from existing ones. I’m still in the early stages of this exploration, but I am excited about where it might lead.
I find great satisfaction in having my work appreciated and included in collections worldwide. Art has the power to create happiness and spark positive reactions, and I’m grateful to contribute to that, even in a small way.
