“Cheryl has a painter’s eye for color using her camera to pull beautiful palettes from nature. Her eye catches the odd leaf in a stream turning the incidental into a stunning photograph.” A. Kremers

Photography

30 years ago, my passion for photography eclipsed my computer career. While my computer science education was important for maintaining my day job, I found myself devoting an increasing amount of time and energy into taking pictures. I woke up early to catch the magic hour and spent my lunch hour photographing the essence of flowers, fields, and nature’s fine details.

In the early 1990’s I began showing and selling my work, without “quitting my day job.” I was honored to have my photography receive recognition from around the world. Eight photographs were chosen by two American ambassadors to adorn the walls of their residences in Cairo, Egypt and Vilnius, Lithuania through the Art in the Embassies program. I won first place in the Massachusetts Audubon Annual Juried Nature Photography Show and the People’s Choice Award at the Marblehead Festival of the Arts. My images have been included in private and corporate collections around the world. I am also glad to have found my passion and listened to Joseph Campbell’s advice to “follow your bliss.”
